Excursions

Sölden is an ideal starting point for interesting excursions. Go over the Timmelsjoch (Panorama Street) to Südtirol/ Italy, admire the famous “Goldene Dachl” in Innsbruck or let the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens enchant you.

An oasis of recreation for young and old
The lake is located in Umhausen between the mighty 3.000m high Ötztaler and Stubaier Alps.
It is right on the way to Stuibenfall and in the immediate vicinity of the Ötzi-Dorf.
Large lawn, a children's playground, beach volleyball and tennis courts provide fun and relaxation for everybody.

Highest tunnel in the eastern Alps
The Ötztaler glacier street is one of the highest roads in the eastern Alps, and with a length of 15km from the village Sölden (1,377m) on the Rettenbach glacier ski areas and Tiefenbach glacier.

 

Nature trail Zirbenwald

Covers an area of 20 hectares
The "Zirbenwald Obergurgl" is at the southern end of the village from 1950m to 2180m above sea level.
The trial through the Zirbenwald is marked by 22 points.
Since centuries this forest enjoys the special protection of the local population. In addition since 1963 the forest is a natural monument.

Ötzi, the Iceman, was the inspiration for the open-air archaeological park.
You gain insight into the lives of our ancestors 5,000 years ago.

Highest Mountain genes managed farms in the eastern Alps
The famous movie "DIE GEIERWALLY" with Heidemarie Hatheyer had been shot there.
Already in the 13th century shepherds founded the first settlement.
Today, the area is a popular gathering place for the mountain friends, since most tours and mountain hikes lead along on the Rofenhöfe and on the famous suspension bridge.
