Not just for the little one hiking experience
Enjoy summer in the mountains. Discover the beauty of our surroundings along the "1st Alpine Ecology Trail". The detailed panels along this interpretive trail provide information on the struggle for survival of the flora and fauna in a high Alpine environment.
The theme trail travels mainly along the natural tree line, the transition zone between sub-alpine forest regions and sub-alpine dwarf shrub heaths, which both form an important component of the high alpine ecosystem.
This trail is divided into two sections. On the one hand you can find the animal kingdom of arctic hare up to the eagle, and on the other hand you can learn about human and alpine nature living together.
Aiming high - the highest viewpoints
The best viewpoints can be found on the summits of the Ötztal Alps. They are generally available without a mountain guide, alpine experience, however, good physical fitness and proper equipment are essential.

Hut - Brunnenkoglhaus (2,738 m) In 2007 newly built you have a grandiose view over Ötztal and a some summits. The Brunnenkoglhaus offers overnight accommodations for 24 persons. In the cozy house and a sun terrace you can enjoy all day warm Tyrolean dishes, cakes and drinks. Unique to the Brunnenkogelhaus is the view of the surrounding mountains and the sunrise and sunset. Even a thunderstorm has its charms. |
